Youth Leadership Program

Equipping our youth with tools to advocate for themselves and their communities

“Know history, know self. No history, no self.”

– Jose Rizal

AAPI New Jersey is creating a space to support future generations of Asian American and Pacific Islander leaders by strengthening their sense of identity, building skills for advocacy and leadership, and empowering them to make tangible changes in their schools and communities. We envision a world with educated, empowered, and engaged AAPI youth, where AAPI youth voices are not only heard but embraced in decision-making that impacts their lives.

By the end of this program, participants will be equipped with the tools to address issues impacting AAPI communities and enact effectual change. The three pillars of the Youth Leadership Program are:

  • Educate: Develop youth’s understandings of race, identity, and AAPI history.
  • Empower: Equip youth leaders with tools for advocacy, leadership, and combatting inequities.
  • Engage: Support youth leaders in implementing community advocacy projects.

This program is currently on pause, but you can learn more about current youth offerings like our RISE & Resist workshop by subscribing to our newsletter.
