Thanks to supporters and volunteers like you, in just three years, AAPI New Jersey (formerly AAPI Montclair), has grown into the largest pan-Asian nonprofit advocating for the rights, representation and welfare of our state’s 1+ million Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. The work before us appears more vast and multidimensional than ever, but with your help, we’ve been able to rise to meet it.
Because of you, we have doubled down on our Teach Asian American Stories initiative to ensure all students in New Jersey grow up understanding that Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders are part of the fabric of our nation.
Because of you, we can work to get AAPIs to the polls, advocate for policies that serve them and address our severe underrepresentation in public service, and educate communities on how the decisions made at all levels of government affect us all.
Because of you, we can equip our young people with tools to advocate for themselves and their communities, strengthen their sense of identity, and empower them to make tangible changes in their schools and communities.
Because of you, we can see the strength and pride that our local cultural celebrations and community-building programs have nurtured in our children, and work to seed even more strong local organizations across the state.

In 2023, we formally changed our name to AAPI New Jersey to reflect the statewide priorities and activities that this group of committed community members and advocates now supports.
