Our mission is to champion the well-being, rights, representation, histories, and cultures of New Jersey’s 1+ million Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders.
AAPI New Jersey envisions a future where Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders– and all historically marginalized communities — thrive in a just and liberated society.
We commit to connecting and celebrating the amazing expanse of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander cultures and identities across New Jersey – including multi-racial and multi-heritage individuals and families, transracial adoptees and families, and diasporic and immigrant individuals and communities – across the full spectrum of political perspective and civic engagement.
We commit to reflecting on and planning for accessibility and inclusion in/through our three pillars of work, and to welcoming individuals and groups of any background and every generation to learn, celebrate, and advocate alongside us.
We condemn intolerance, oppression, and hatred in all forms; and commit to resistance and liberation solidarity and collective action with other groups and movements.
In 2023, we formally changed our name to AAPI New Jersey to reflect the statewide priorities and activities that this group of committed community members and advocates now supports.
